Messy Hair Kennels

My daughters, Ashley and Amanda, and myself, Chari, decided to become breeders of these wonderful Schapendoes many years ago.  Messy Hair Kennel was started in 2012, but our love for Schapendoes start way before that with our first male Schapendoes, Mugsy, who was from the first recognized Canadian born Schapendoes litter from Raymonde Brière.

We choose selectively the breedings we do from Canadian and European Championship lines. All our parents are OFA (hips, elbows, heart) & CAER (eyes) tested. The puppies are raised in a lovingly home, and are raised for companions, conformation, or performance.  All the puppies are temperament tested and placed in approved homes.

We provide a health guarantee and unlimited support to our puppies’ families throughout their lives.  All the puppies are vet checked with their first vaccination and micro-chipped before they leave our home. We take pride in helping our puppies be as successful as they can when they transition into their homes by aiding in their training before they leave. Each puppy is crate trained, been socialized in our homes with people and our other dogs, and we safely interact them within our community.

If you would like to know more about our kennels, we are more then happy to have you visit our home by appointment or feel free to reach out to us through our website, email, phone, FaceBook or Instagram.

Élevage du Bouleau Blanc

The Bouleau Blanc kennel and its Schapendoes has been a small family kennel for 23 years. We breed quality dogs from European champion bloodlines. Health, temperament, type and conformation are always the criteria for selecting breeding dogs.

More than 35 years of experience as a dog trainer and breeder allows me to offer you balanced puppies thanks to their education in a family environment, a socialization program before their departure, adaptation to a crate and support after their departure to their families. Puppies are evaluated to meet the needs of the family and the dog, with the main goal being a harmonious relationship between the two.

I breed twice a year maximum. I have two dogs at home who are my life partners. My other dogs live in foster homes, with longtime friends and family members. My families are fantastic and share the same love of the breed as I do. Each foster dog comes to visit me regularly to ensure a good relationship with its extended family. Thanks to this way of doing things, I ensure that each dog has an exceptionally stimulating life and an optimal environment in which he develops and has fun on a daily basis, throughout his life.

I invite you to visit us by appointment. It will be my great pleasure to introduce my Schapendoes family to you.

Schapendoesly yours !

Colette Peiffer, passionate breeder

Schapendoes de la Vallée

Pioneers of the breed in Canada, it was in 2000 that we welcomed Muscade (Rikadoes) from France who would be mated in 2002 for her first litter with Fisban, imported by Raymonde Brière. Our interest in this breed has only increased over the years due to the many qualities of this cheerful and rustic little shepherd dog.

Involved in the creation of the Schapendoes Club of Canada as well as in the process of recognition of the breed by the Canadian Kennel Club, our efforts have always been focused on maintaining the standards of the breed and offering healthy puppies through our family breeding and a well-established socialization program.

Since 2016, we have been working in partnership with Colette Peiffer from the Bouleau Blanc kennel.

Located in the heart of the Missisquoi Valley in Estrie, on 72 hectares of land, our dogs enjoy this beautiful nature through fields, forests, and river.

We invite you to come and meet Emma, Rosie, Zoé and occasionally Moab (male recently arrived from Holland).
